Prizes:  Prizes are limited to ONE PER BOAT with the exception of tagged Kingfish prizes, Cobia, Wahoo and Dolphin which supplement the regular Tournament or Tournament within a Tournament.  All prizes will be awarded to the registered Captain. In the event of a tie in weight, the winner shall be determined by the earliest check-in time as determined by the check-in boat.  If you place more than one category, you will automatically be sorted to the position of greatest value. In any circumstances, only one prize will be awarded.  If you place more than one category, you will automatically be sorted to the position of greatest value. In any circumstances, only one prize will be awarded. There will be forty-nine (49) General Tournament prizes  - fifteen (15) prize places for the Largest Kingfish, fifteen (15) prize places for the Largest Two-Day Aggregate [one Kingfish per day], ten (5) prize places for the Class of 23 Two-Day Aggregate [one kingfish per day], and three (3) prize places for Largest Cobia, Largest Wahoo and Largest Dolphin. Prizes awarded in the 1st place Largest and Aggregate categories are 100% merchandise.  Prizes awarded in the 2rd through 15th place Largest and Aggregate categories are a cash . Remaining prizes awarded by the Tournament in each category are 100% cash.  Total value of prizes may exceed published values.  Merchandise value is the Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP).  The Tournament makes no representation as to the actual value of any merchandise included as part of a prize. 

Anyone catching a Kingfish weighed in that is tagged with a 2011 GJKT tag caught while fishing in the 2011 GJKT General Tournament will receive $1,000 cash. Any Junior Angler catching and weighing one of the Kingfish tagged with a 2011 GJKT tag while fishing in the Junior Angler Tournament, will win a $1,000.00 Scholarship.  Anyone who catches one of the Kingfish tagged with a 2011 GJKT tag beginning July 24, 2011 through July 18, 2012 and brings the tag to the Tournament Office prior to July 18, 2012, will be awarded an entry in the 2012 Greater Jacksonville Kingfish Tournament.  Other prizes may be offered by sponsors and/or manufacturers as supplemental prizes awarded in addition to the Tournament prizes.  In the event that the minimum number of paid entries is not achieved, the prize structure may be adjusted by the appropriate Tournament Committee to reflect the actual number of paid entries.

 

No substitutions or cash equivalents will be permitted except at the Tournament’s option for a prize of comparable or greater value.  Federal, state, and local taxes, if any, are the responsibility of the winners. The winner of any boat or vehicle is responsible for license, registration, title fees and insurance costs and must show evidence of insurance and a valid driver’s license when picking up the boat or vehicle. All prizes must be picked up within 30 days of notification of availability or prize will be forfeited. Cash prizes are valid for one (1) year from date of issue.  By participating, entrants agree to the Tournament’s Official Rules and the decisions of the Tournament, which shall be final in all respects.
